Unfortunately I have no information about the father of Émile-Louis. The family further includes Eugène’s father, Jean-Louis Burnouf (1775-1844) who was a professor of Latin and translated Chézy’s Yajñadattavadha from Sanskrit into Latin. A sister of Eugène was married with the poet Léopold Delisle. Louis Leupol who collaborated with Émile-Louis in Sanskrit studies, was the nom-de-plume of François Leloup de Cheroy (1807-??) of Nancy.
