Akira Yuyama presents Emile Burnouf as a cousin of Eugène. See

According to my sources, the famous Eugène Burnouf (1801-1852) was an

uncle of the less important Émile-Louis Burnouf (1821-1907), by

contemporaries called “le petit Burnouf”. Unfortunately I have no

information about the father of Émile-Louis. The family further includes

Eugène’s father, Jean-Louis Burnouf (1775-1844) who was a professor of

Latin and translated Chézy’s Yajñadattavadha from Sanskrit into Latin. A

sister of Eugène was married with the poet Léopold Delisle. Louis Leupol

who collaborated with Émile-Louis in Sanskrit studies, was the

nom-de-plume of François Leloup de Cheroy (1807-??) of Nancy.
