Guest guest
Have any steps been taken by the Indian government to standardize the currently anarchical situation in Indian language font sets? Why cannot everyone follow one system so that all fonts are interchangeable?? As far as possible, this standard should cross alphabets, so that ka's ASCII number is the same in Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali and Tamil. Thought there are numerous differences between writing systems, the basic similarities should be preserved as far as possible.
