Guest guest Posted September 18, 2003 Report Share Posted September 18, 2003 Dear List Members: I had earlier written regarding translations of Mahabhasya[1-4] in HIndi and English. Mr. Deshpande had suggested S.D. Joshi. However, his works are only till the 2nd chapter and I have already found Subrahmanyam Shastri's 'Lectures on Pat.'s Mahabhashya' in English and Yudhishthir Mimansak's translation till the 2nd chapter. I am looking for two things. (1) Translation of chapters 3 and 4 of Mahabhashya - in Hindi or English (2) Comprehensive treatise on Mahabhashya - strictly in Englsi/Hindi - which explains in details of what this book is about, its methods, its contents, important discussions etc. I did find somme works with this comprehensive nature but the authors never went beyond the Navahnika or worse Paspashahnika.
