Guest guest
Mr. Ramesh: If you can read Hindi well then I can tell you this. No book can match Brahm Dutt Jigyasu and Yudhishthir Mimansak's excellent introduction to Paninian Linguistics in their book 'Sanskrit Pathan-Paathan ki Anubhoot Saraltam Vidhi' - Part I and II. This book is published by Ram Lal Kapoor Trust, an Arya Samaji Organization. They have an office in Nai Sarak in New Delhi. This book is also available in an English translation but doubt if it can do justice to the original. Chetan Pandey PS. In the beginning even this book was not of much help. I happened to come across this book entirely in simple Sanskrit called 'Vyavaharik Paniniyam' - published by Aurobindo Ashram, Ponidcherry which got me going and clarified the basics and then I picked up the rest from the above books. Thanks. Chetan Pandey jaimaa1008 <jaimaa1008 wrote: Prof. Deshpande, I am looking for a good entry level book on Panini's Ashtadhyayi.Would you plese help me out. Guest guest
You can start with reading first the Introduction volume and then the translation volume's of The Astadhyayi of P, translated and annotated by Rama Nath Sharma, published by Munshiram Manoharlal publishers in Delhi. This is perhaps the best readable translation of the A, with modern annotations.
