Guest guest
List Members: Please note that the recent message "Hi, darling" (I take it originally including a virus, which stripped from the message) was not from me. I have, in fact, never posted to the Indology List, but was just alerted to the message's existence via email by another List member. Hindutva forces regularly send me viruses (often several a day) and periodically post false messages in my name on both public and private scholarly Lists. When they do this in , the message is typically posted by someone who is technically a List Member who temporarily inserts my return address into their preference file for that one message. The List Owner can often determine the real source of the message, although it is possible to obscure the trail, by looking at the originating IP address in the full message header. I unfortunately can't see that full message header in this case since I don't receive emails from Indology, but only have access to List messages via the Web. (I would appreciate it if someone on the List could send me the full header, however.) For anyone curious as to why right-wing Indian forces like to waste my time writing notes like this, go to http://www.safarmer.com/downloads and go through slide show #1 or my notes from my last Harvard Indology Roundtable lecture. You can write me directly on these matters, but please note that at present I don't post to this particular List. Best wishes, Steve Farmer
Guest guest
Many racist, imperial-minded Westerners in bed in Marxist Indians (see Farmer, I can play the name-calling game too) like to label those who do not agree with their muddle-headed fantasies as "right-wing Hindutva forces." If Farmer is being hounded electronically and otherwise he ought to stop whining and report the incidences to the appropriate law-enforcement agencies. We have been hearing a lot these days about Western scholars receiving threats from the aforementioned "right-wing Hindutva forces." My recommendation to these men and women is, pick up the phone and call the FBI, your district attorney, your local police station etc. Warm regards, r INDOLOGY, "Steve Farmer" <saf@s...> wrote: > List Members: > > Please note that the recent message "Hi, darling" (I take it originally including a virus, > which stripped from the message) was not from me.
