Guest guest
PArvatI, as her name ('Daughter of the Mountain') implies, is the daughter of the mountain-god Himavat (Himalaya). Her mother is MenakA, an apsaras. SatI's mother is called AsiknI. Hope this helps. Valerie J Roebuck Manchester, UK PS When you post to a list, it is appreciated if you include your name. Guest guest
It was not MenakA but MenA who was the mother of Parvati. The three daughters of HemavAn and MenA were rAgiNI, KutiLA, and KALi (later called UmA and known as PArvatI).
