PArvatI, as her name ('Daughter of the Mountain') implies, is the

daughter of the mountain-god Himavat (Himalaya). Her mother is

MenakA, an apsaras. SatI's mother is called AsiknI.

It was not MenakA but MenA who was the mother of Parvati. The three

daughters of HemavAn and MenA were rAgiNI, KutiLA, and KALi (later

called UmA and known as PArvatI).
