Guest guest
Giorgio Bonazzoli, in an article in _Purana_ [vol. 25, no. 1, 1983, p. 84] quotes the following from the Devi Bhagavatam: zi.syaprazi.syadvaare.na tadeva vipuliik.rtam|| (DBhg, Mahaatmya, 5.93cd) He states that this is from the "Mor Edition," but I have been unable to locate this verse in that or in any other edition. Am I wrong in assuming that I should find it at Skandhaka 5 verse 93cd? Can anyone help me to locate this verse? Thanks. Guest guest
Hello, The reference is not to verse 93cd of skandha 5 of the DBhg (if so the adhyAya would be missing) but to verse 93cd of adhyAya 5 of the DBhg *MAhAtmya* which comes before the DBhg proper (in the VeGkatezvara Edition). -------------------------- Paolo Magnone Sanskrit Language and Literature Catholic University of Milan Jambudvipa - Indology and Sanskrit Studies: www.jambudvipa.net =============== ORIGINAL MESSAGE =============== > Mon, 23 Feb 2004 16:57:04 -0500 > Joseph Walser <joseph.walser > Devi Bhagavatam verse > >Giorgio Bonazzoli, in an article in _Purana_ [vol. 25, no. 1, 1983, p. 84] >quotes the following from the Devi Bhagavatam: > >zi.syaprazi.syadvaare.na tadeva vipuliik.rtam|| (DBhg, Mahaatmya, 5.93cd) > >He states that this is from the "Mor Edition," but I have been unable to >locate this verse in that or in any other edition.
