Dear Readers,

The following URL now contains a critique of Satish Chandra's

Medieval India (NCERT 2000) which was prescribed reading for Std XI

students in India between 1978 and 2002.

http://www.bharatvani.org/SatishChandra-flawed_history.pdf

The critique is 57 pages long, and is merely illustrative.

The writer is Meenakshi Jain, who is the author of the new NCERT

textbook for Std. XI.

I want to point out that a brief critique of Romila Thapar's textbook

on medieval India, prescribed for Std. VII, is already available at

Sincerely,

Vishal Agarwal
