Guest guest
I'm writing to ask some informations on the identification of some (probably) Shaiva sects that still sound mysteryous to me, that is, the Vaimalas and the kAruka. In particular, we find in Abhinavagupta's TA, 13, 305, the mention of "Shaivas, Vaimalas, SiddhAntins, Arhats, KArukas". The word KAruka Siddhantin is listed in the MW dictionary, with a reference to Badarayana brahma sUtra. But I've not been able to find anything about the Vaimalas. Could anybody provide explanations? Any help would be much appreciated. Best regards
