He says:- yo hIti. dvAtrimzatkRZNalarajataparimANamM kArSApaNaH. kUTAkUTavilakSaNavivekajJAnena janitA vyutpattiH kUTatvanizcayo yasya sa tahoktaH. In TantavArtika (1, 3 ,8, page149 line 3 from bottom) kumArila compares words to coins which can be tested by intelligent people. He says:- zabdApabhraMzavadeva gauNabrAntyAdiprayoganimittA arthApabhraMzA bhavanti te zAstrasthairevAviplutArthakriyAnimittapuNyArthibhiH zakyante sAdhyasAdhukArSApaNamadhyAdiva tatparIkSibhir vivektum. The nyAya is found in NyAyamajJari,page 162, as follows. nApi bAdhakAbhAvaparicchedAtprAmANyanizcayaH sa hi tAtkAliko vAsyAtkAlAntarbhAvI vA. tAtkAliko na paryAptaH prAmANyaparinizcaye. kUTakArSApanAdau kimcitkAlamanutpannavAdhae'pi kAlAntare tad utpAdadarzanAt. Had written to Indology also about this. I really enjoyed reading the extracts given by you.
