Here motivation can be looked at as the effect and the cause being the good or bad ideas. Most of the time the bad ideas are self centric. This causes the effect to be bad too. The self can be controlled, in turn the behaviour, thro' meditation as i see that as a way of controlling and validating the thoughts.
