Guest guest
My closest one Vipin was a strange person. I am talking of 1987. Vipin was an atheist and shy person. He had no friend and he never believed in God or religion or astrology or any such thing. A very practical man as he was he decided to marry on the most un-auspicious day against the advice of priests and parents. And off he went to Shimla capital of Himachal Pradesh for his honeymoon.

Shimla is a beautiful hill city. Jakhoo Temple is its main attraction. Jakhoo is a Sidhha Hanuman Temple and it is said that when Shri Hanuman was flying with the mountain (containing Sanjivini herb) to save Laxman's life, he was brought down by a saint at Jakhoo hill. Hanuman jee blessed the saint that he (Hanuman) will always keep his holy vibrations there. The Jakhoo temple is at the height of 10000 feet above sea level. One has to trek for about 2 Kms from city centre to reach Jakhoo. The path is a dense jungle and it is full of monkeys. Most of the monkeys wil stretch their palm before you to get sweets and if not given, some may attack also. There are many stories of monkey snatching purses, spectacles and other bags from the visitors. Surprisingly, if you offer them sweets, they will return your belongings.

So Vipin's wife wished to visit the temple, and Vipin had to agree against his wishes to avoid spoiling his honeymoon. But they started very late and by the time they reached half way, it was 3 pm and there was nobody on the trek-path. the path was full of monkey some ferociously waiting for their booty. Vipin's wife was afraid and suggested not to go to temple and they started descending.

contd
