Guest guest
Dear Sadhaks

Peace be with you all.

No one is fallen in our eyes; each one is a manifestation of the mighty "GOD". Each one is at different stages, with different temperaments depending on the karmic baggage.

Each member is encouraged to express his or her opinions, ideas and thoughts they wish to share. The only request is to do it in the spirit of love and respect for fellow sadhaks. In fact, I have always maintained that for sadhaks it shouldn’t be hard to do, since no matter what path we choose for ourselves, all roads appeal to their followers to speak in love and without judgment. A satsangh is an ideal place to practice “walk the talk”.

We have a beautiful opportunity to learn from each other, understand each others' paths and thus progress on our own journeys. Of course, if we choose to.

The whole field of love /Bhakti is awesome to me. In Bhakti the waves of love totally blind us to everything else. People have moved mountains when they are in this kind of love. In fact, this one-pointed focus is precisely the role of Bhakti in God-realization. When we see nothing else but our ishta-devata, (one’s chosen representation of “God”) in everything around us and we become truly one with him/her we find ourselves experiencing the Spiritual bliss of God- realization. In fact, it is true even if one’s Bhakti is directed to the impersonal TRUTH (though it may be harder to form the same kind of attachment to the impersonal). Speaking for myself, I am uncontrollably and illogically moved to tears by certain Advaitic chants just as songs of praise for their Guru or ishta-devata moves others. I see no difference. I see a resonance with what is appropriate for each of us.

I feel, the key phrase is “seeing God in everything around us” and not “everyone see God my way; through my eyes”. Of course it is natural for a sadhak to be so excited at the beauty and wonder of their personal experience that they want to share it with everyone around them. We tend to do it with everything. It has happened to all on this path. Only with experience does one realize that each one has to discover their own path, one can only be a catalyst and a trigger in another’s journey. A Guru, too, is a catalyst, and cannot spoon-feed anyone.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful discussion. There is so much to learn. Let’s continue and keep it where we show respect to each other’s path just as we would like others to respect ours.

Tat Twam Asi

UMA
