Guest guest
Dear friends,

a lot of confusion is created by the fact that Hinduism has so many gods and philosophies. If we analyse carefully, we will find that Hinduism is not simply an "ism" or a religion. It is a movement of evolution of human mind. It starts from worshipping the demi-gods (asking for rain, cereals, money, comforts), crosses over to higher manifestations (for heaven etc) comes to Yoga (karma,Gyana,Bhakti etc) and finally reaches the Vedanta the supreme philosophy.

Let me remind you all that Sadhna club is not dedicated to any particular path. It is for all be it idol worshipping, karma yoga, bhakti or Advaita. If we do not agree with other's idea or find them too naive, let us just not critise him/her. With further evolution he (or we) will evolve. And It is not our duty to correct the religion of others. Let us analyse ourselves let us correct ourselves.

The real sadhna starts when we stop analysing others and start analysing ourselves.

Each of us has a truth of our own. What I percieve is truth for me. I am nobody to force others to believe it. Let them see their own truth.

Anyhow, everyone will accept that Upanishadas presented the highest truth of Hinduism. What is there in Upanishadas ? I am starting a series on different Upanishadas. I will not go into difficult technical words and will try to make it in simpler forms. We may discuss this in between but this discussion will be for understanding, not to criticise. If any post is henceforth found to be attacking other's faith, it will be deleted ..

I am starting with Mandukyopanisada.

=> The three matras(syllables) of Aum are the three padas(states) of the soul. This constitutes the Sagun Brahm (God with qualities)

=>The Aum without the Matras is the soul without the aspects. This constitutes the Nirguna Brahm (god beyond qualities)

=> Meditation on the Aum is the means of realizing the Brahm (supereme consciousness)

=> Brahm is the only one, non-dual reality; and there is nothing else but Brahm

=> Whatever appears to be threr other than the Brahmn is as illusory as the appearance of a serpent on a rope.

=> The illusion of manyness occurs owing to the Maya or prakriti (Nature), the inscrutable power of the Brahmn. Brahmn is the controller of maya

=> As there is nothing but Brahmn nothing is born

=> So, though immanent in all the objects of world and thoug it is the shelter and ground of all, the Brahmn is ever transcendent, self-effulgent, uncontaminated and full of bliss and peace.

So dear ones, this is what Mandukyopanisad has behind all its shloka....

Hari Om Tat Sat
