Upanishada
-----------------

=> It is the Soul who inspires the

mind and sense

organs to do their respective functions of thinking,

hearing,seeing, speaking and breathing.

=>The Soul is

the Prana of pranas, Mind of the minds, the Ear of

the ears, the Eye of the eyes and the Speech of the

speech.

=>Just as hotness of water is due to the borrowed heat

of fire, even so the power to think, to hear etc. is

the borrowed power of the Soul. The wise realize the

Soul and become immortal.

=> The Soul is

beyond the reach of the senses, mind, intellect,

learning and inference. Not only it is beyond the

phenomenal knowledge, but also beyond the

unknowable.

= > Yet the Soul or the Brahmn can be directly

realized by one who follows the instruction of the

spiritual teacher and silently meditates upon what is

imparted upon him.

=> For him, who does not care

to realize the Brahmn in this very human life, there

is reserved complete destruction.

=> Gods

became puffed up with pride and could not understand

that their victory over the demons was due to the

power of Brahmn, not their own.

=> Unlike

fire and wind who could neither burn nor blow away a

blade of grass, Indra was humble and so he could meet

the Guru, who then imparted to him the knowledge of

Brahmn.

=> The adhidaivata (lower gods)and

adhyatmika(religious one) are the aspects of the manifestation of the

power of Brahmn in Nature and in man.

=> None

who is incapable of practising penance and restraint,

and who does not possess the virtues of truth, self

sacrifice and humility, should ever hope to realize the

Brahmnvidya (Knowledge of

God).

*******************************************************************\
