Guest guest
Om Blessed Self

Whew! What a lot of questions you have:
1. the relationship between science and religion.
2. the relationship between religion and spirituality.
3. Why is there is suffering?
4. Are miracles real?
5. Can one really "know God"?
6. What is the proof for God's existence?

and I'm sure there are thousands more questions to come.

Could I suggest that a change and refinement in methodology might allow you to answer these questions yourself. Right now you seem to operating on the basis of logic and empirical data just as we have all been conditioned to do since the Industrial Revolution and Descartes.

Logic is very useful but is only as good as the premises involved. Mystics from all religions tell us that logic will take you to the threshold of spiritual enlightenment but it won't open the door or take you through the entrance. To do that requires an intuitive leap, a meta intelligence, that fortunately is developed by whatever spiritual purification practices the mystic is using for the years that he or she is also using logic to approach the doorway of enlightenment.

It's the same with modern science. There is a lot of logical footslogging (experiments, data analysis, theory adjustments, and more experiments) to be done before that moment of "eureka", that flash of insight that takes the scientist deeper into the essence of what he or she is studying.

The second pillar, empirical data, is limited, first, by the limits, preconditioning and unreliability of our senses and, second, by limits, built-in preconditioning and unreliability of the machines that we produce to overcome the first limit, that of the senses themselves. So, perhaps there is a better way to acquire data and knowledge. And there is.

End of Part 1. Please read the next Post for the complete message.
