Guest guest
Dear really!

What a pity you are leaving right when I am finishing up with my exams with a little more time to interact. But then when the time is right and if its needed I'm sure our paths will cross again.

I would hesitate to knock the "dry jyana" since it is all part of the journey. Talk has to come first .. no matter how incongruent it may be from one's behavior; however one day it has to be followed up with "walk" .. it is the only way to learn no matter how long it takes to make the decision to do so. Only when we put the talk into practice do we truely understand the "talk"; the big words, the eloquent essays, the fancy shlokas, the stories, the mantras all come alive to a point where there are no words available to describe them .. till then it is only "gyana" and remains "dry".

Discussing maya behind the veil of maya to break out of the veil is a tough act! Breaking out of the controlling bonds of ego through ego-centered actions and behavior is tougher still!!

It is a constant process where something triggers our "thoughts" which is first discussed and mentally understood/accepted. Then is has to be followed by practice. Practice tends to bring up challenges to our understandings if/when we do not see results immeditately or according to our expectations. This triggers the need for faith. And faith is built on practice that is successful (direct experience). Thus the four broad paths are intergrated in our journey.. Gyana (knowledge), Karma (action), Bhakti(faith and devotion), Raja(direct experience).

From my understanding all journeys take this course, again and again like an onion being pealed, no matter where one is starting from or where one is focussed on at a point in time.

That is the whole purpose of sadhna. Providing catalysts to move us along our journey.

If you wish, do come and share some of your experiences etc with us.

Much love and light, really..

Tat Twam Asi
UMA
