Guest guest Posted April 21, 2001 Report Share Posted April 21, 2001 Sahajo Bai, 18th century poet<br><br>The sadhu<br> practised sadhana.<br>He renounces sloth<br> and foolish debates.<br>By focusing his awareness<br> he stills the changing patterns<br> of the world.<br>He renounces distress,<br>prayer and insult.<br><br>One who knows foregiveness<br>is always patient.<br>By controlling the five senses,<br> He kills the mind.<br>He renounces lies<br> and always speaks the truth.<br>When his mind is stable,<br>it does not run here and there.<br><br>With his body in the world,<br> and his mind fixed on Hari,<br>he is indifferent<br> to sensual pleasures.<br>His thoughts dwell<br> on asceticism, truthfulness,<br> virtue and mercy.<br>His body, mind and speech<br> give joy to all.<br><br>He meditates on God-without-form,<br> he knows Brahma.<br>His mouth is full <br> of immortal words.<br>He understands the One,<br> and has no other delight.<br>Little Sahajo<br> worships<br> his feet.
