Guest guest
Once upon a time there lived a man whose nose got cut in an accident and this 'uniqueness' made the poor fellow quite depressed until he hit upon an idea.
He migrated to another village which was very far from his place of residence and from day one he began dancing with joy with his eyes closed taking the name of one of the gods. This charade went on for quite some time until people got curious and began asking him questions, he replied that he has continuous visions of the god whose name he chants and thus he is in perpetual joy. People were indeed impressed by his apparent blissful state and very soon he began getting potential disciples who wanted to learn 'his ways' so as to escape from their lives of drudgery and toil. But he put a precondition that in order to walk his path a person would have to get his nose-cut because the nose was a symbol of 'personal ego' and god never shows himself to a person with ego. This pre-condition caused most potential disciples to disperse except one sincere chap who had a burning desire to see god for he was very much troubled in his mundane life.
Hence the disciple's nose was cut and he began chanting and dancing as per his nose-less guru's instructions, but even after a long time there was no vision, thus he approached his guru somewhat angrily that what he was taught was all false ! The guru hurriedly took him to a secluded corner and said " You fool ! Did you really think there is going to be a vision ? Now the situation is this, only you and myself are the two persons among the surrounding millions who are nose-less, do you want to become a tamaasha(funny exhibit) for all to enjoy? I would advise you to continue as you were and start telling all that you too have 'attained' the vision of god so that our kind may multiply. "
And this is what happened, now there are more than a million of these 'nose-cut' disciples at various stages of advancement to the final revelation that was given to the first disciple. And naturally they and especially those who have had the 'final revelation' have a certain missionary zeal to propagate the truth for not so obvious reasons.

Any comments ?
