Clubs to groups conversion

Dear Members.. <br><br>I want to briefly update

you on the upcoming changes in format of

clubs.<br><br>As you may have heard among other issues with ,

they also bought out , an email based

list-serve type community. After hundreds of petitions,

requests, suggestions, discussions between club founders

and oficials, they are now attempting to keep

some of the community and club like features of

clubs that we have been enjoying and intergrating it

with the many postive features of what used to be

e-groups. <br><br>The problem that is being faced by

founders is that no one is sure as to when this change is

going to take place. We are told that the founders will

be informed. Here is where we stand

now..<br><br>1. will change the entire club as it is, name

members, posts etc to .<br><br>2.

will have several more options available both for

founders and members to make the interaction more positive

and secure. <br><br>3. Members will have the option

to receive posts by mail or come to the web site.

However the default MAY be set to 'receive by mail". This

is being debated and we're not sure what the final

version will be. <br><br>4.The methods of invites to

clubs is also being debated and we hope they maintain

the strengths of what we already have while removing

any loopholes. <br><br>If one day you try to access

clubs and mailbox and find your mail box bombarded with

posts then please don't panic. All you have to do is go

to the club and set the options accordingly. A 2-3

step procedure. Thats all.<br><br>To play with the

groups format you can go to 's home page and type

in +groups, click search and pick the one which

says goups (may say by email). You will be taken to a

page similar to the one for clubs. <br><br>An eg.

presently show up on My as yet and

we are trying to work towards that feature being

added. <br><br>Many of the glitches are because of

this transtion. Membership lists, club stats, etc. are

all a jumble right now. Please bear with all of us

and we will try to keep you informed. <br><br>We

request you to let the founders know your active email ID

so that if needed we can contact you all through the

email feature. In the group format we will have the

option of having the members keep thier email ID pvt to

all but founders. That way they are protected from

spams while ensuring the founders can keep in touch if
