<<Yogis say that Mind is the separator

between the Atman and Paramatman. Specially jyotishguru

said this to us in Varanasi. then how come Mind have a

Divine Love with Soul?>>

Blessed Self,

nathyogin

Mind is not only the separator between atman and

paramatman, mind is the separator between the jiva (i.e.

'that which decays from the moment of birth' -

Shiva-Purana) and atman. The mind and the sense impressions in

it, leads to a sense of individuation and an

ignorance of one's divine nature.

Mind does not

normally have a "Divine Love with Soul". Mind does not

normally know Soul. According to Patanjali, the Divine

Love or Bliss or Ananda that one experiences occurs

only as the antahkarana consisting of the mind

(manas), intellect (buddhi), ego (ahamkara) and

subconscious (chitta) is withdrawn from the world of duality

and allowed to become quieter and quieter. When the

thought waves are finally stilled, the perceiver rest in

his own true nature. That true nature is the Atman.

Associated with this apprehension of the Atman is Ananda or

Bliss. Ananda is a characteristic of the Atman. What is

felt as 'True Love' is actually the experience of the

Atman's Ananda in its undiluted form.

If the

antahkarana is not completely still, then sense impressions

and their accompanying emotions are active and

obscure a direct experience of the Atman. As the Atman is

obscured, Ananda is dimmed. Until, finally, our minds are

so fully engaged in the world of duality and Ananda

is so diluted and contaminated that It becomes what

we call pleasure, happiness or love. Pleasure,

happiness and love, as we know, are fleeting because the

mind is in constant motion and agitation looking

outside for That which resides inside.

Prajnanam
