God teaches us to love but at the same time God tells us that we need to be careful of situations.<br>Maybe this person was genuine, but then I am not totally convinced that this person was absolutely needy. Maybe this was a conman. <br>I personally think you did the right thing. And if feel you failed a test God put put in front of you, well there will be more tougher tests which will be more genuine.
