Guest guest
this doubt is about an incident that happened yesterday.

please bear with me if the question sounds trivial

my friend and myself were sitting in a food shop when a man entered the restaurant and went to a phone booth which was very close to the place we were sitting.
he started talking to someone and we couldn't help overhearing. it seemed that he was mugged by some thugs (also hit on the head but was not bleeding) and he lost his belongings. i immediately felt sorry for that man.
then he started talking to us. he wanted some directions to go to the airport where he wanted to
catch a flight in about 3 hrs. he didn't even have money to place a call. so we gave him the money. then he asked us for $10 - 15 for taxi so that he could go to some friend of his who could help him. we were ready to give him $1.50 which was the minimum required that could take him to the place. but we were not ready to give him the amount which he was asking since we were also foreigners and were not much acquainted to the place.we also advised him to contact the police.
but he seemed to be too shaken by the incident to heed any advice. so he thanked us for our help and
left.
this set both of us wondering whether we did the right thing?
did we fail in GOD's test?
kindly send your candid opinions as to did we do the right thing? or what should have we done in such a
situation?

shubh
