Guest guest
Kundalini...

I want to relate my experience. I still question if I am actually experiencing anything or not. I sometimes think this is all a figment of my imagination.

winter of 2000 i was reading j.krishnamurti. i understood some of what he was saying but not everything. then one night, after one of my reading sessions, i lay down to sleep. i was on my back and i started thinking about what i had read. all of a sudden, in a flash (not a literal visual flash) of insight, i understood. but this was not an insight in the traditional sense, i.e. there was a "wider" quality to it. there i lay, tearing with joy, it was an amazing experience. this is but the preamble.

the next night, out of the blue i decided to concentrate on by lower spine. i had read about chakras but was skeptical and even questioned their existence. now, almost automatically, i sent my attention to my spine. i utilized breathing techniques i had learnt through SRF (self realization fellowship) lessons but had found "boring" and had given up on. after a while, i felt an energy welling up at the base of my spine.

in the weeks to follow, whenever i lay down to sleep, the energy would start building, often on its own, without the breathing exercises. i did some research on chakras and concentrated on location where literature claimed where my 2nd chakra would be. as i concentrated on the chakra one night, i felt a burning sensation. after a while, the burning gave way to something like a wave, spreading out of the chakra location in all directions. that night i felt something rise up my back (trickling sensation) till my chest, where it seemed to disappear and then come back at my neck and up into my head where it seemed to disappear.

since then, twice i have felt as though, well, my brain was going to part. once after i had meditated and then slept. i woke up and was chatting online and all of a sudden, out of the blue i felt as though my brain was going to part from the top of my head. the second time, when i was waiting for a bus, the weather was beautiful and i felt a tingling in my head and starting from a little right and moving up to the top of my head, again i felt that parting sensation. both times, the parting stopped, and things "reset".

i have to still to see any light or experience the vast emptiness that many meditators claim they experience. but i do know that something is going on. im posting my experience because i have questions and i feel it would be better if people knew what perspective i am speaking from.

thnx.

adi.
