Guest guest
Qu6 - (And a young girl in school has asked) I wish to do sadhna but my parents say i should be busy in studies and do sadhna in old age? Is it true that sadhna is for older persons only?

Ans :

Sadhana, in English it is known as Spiritual Practice or regular efforts made by the seeker to realize the God.

After listening to our primary lecture on the "Importance of the Science of Spirituality", one of the audience, commented: "I understand and accept all the concepts in the lecture. I will definitely practice spirituality in my old age." This is a comment we hear quite frequently.

45% of the people today realize that Spirituality is useful, yet 50% of them say, "We will undertake spiritual practice when we get older." The following points will explain why this thinking is incorrect:

1. When there is no guarantee that one will survive till old age, deciding that one will practice Spirituality later, is incorrect.

2. Good physical and mental health are required to undertake spiritual practice. When one gets old, since both these become weak, it becomes difficult to undertake spiritual practice.

3. Just as it is difficult to learn any new skill in old age, so also it becomes difficult to learn to do spiritual practice.

The number of impressions created in the subconscious mind go on increasing with age. In Spirituality, however, one aims at eliminating all these impressions. So, the greater the number of impressions, the more intense one's spiritual needs to be.

Hence one should undertake spirituality now itself instead of wasting even one minute.

With love
Sanatan
