PRANAAMS TO A GREAT SIDDHA

Dear friends,<br> Iwould like to share with you

all, blessings of a man of true divinity and

Godhood.He is simply called 'NAMBOODAR APPAA' by his limited

circle of disciples.He has lived for over 512 years and

has continued to guide many sincere sadhakas in ways

innumerable.<br> He was born in 1489 in a small village 60 kms

from Kaladi(birth place of Adi shanakaracharya, in

Kerala)on the pratipat day of chaitra navarathri.His father

was a learned namboodari brahman called Ananta

padmanaabha.I dont recall his mother's name.By 15 he had

studied Vedas,angas,Shankara Bhaashayam and a little of

Agama shastra too.He then left for Kancheepuram, the

ancient seat of learning to study under Vidyaa Ghana

Swamigal. He specialised in Krishna yajurveda.He was

initiated into Bhuvaneshwari mantra by a guru, who he

fondly calls "Periyappa' and reveals no more details. He

married at the age of 21 and had four sons.He also

travelled wide and defeated many Dvaitins,scholars of

Gaudiya Vaishnava sects and other dualistic sects by his

profound knowledge of Advaita. He was initiated into Kali

and Tara mahavidyas by kulanandanatha and deepaka

siddha (both disciples of Kaadambari Baba, reputed to be

none other than Kriya Babaji) respectively in

Benares.He practiced kundalini kriya yoga under agreat

master of Aghora, Sri Sri Dhehkad Babaji(Guru of Sri

Tailang swamiji maharaj of kashi). He then practiced in

solitude in a hill in Nagaland for many years. He was

initiated into the Chinnamasta Mahavidya by the great Yogi

Bhairavanandanatha in Vindhyachal, in his 72 end year. Since then he

has continued to live in divine union till today.He

has stayed with the common men for several periods in

Jodhpur , mysore, tiruvannamalai, benaras and other

places during several periods though he is generally

engrossed in deep samadhi or doing anushtanams for Maa

Chinnamastaa and lord Dattatreya in Vindhyaachal and Girnar.He

has told me of meeting with Sri Narasimha Bharathi

Swamigal and receiving Srividya from him along with

Bala,Shyamala and Varaahi.He stayed with Dr.Ramaswami Iyer, an

ardent devotee of Mother as well as the late

Paramacharya of Kancheepuram,several times in Chennai during

the last decade.<br>I have never seen him eat

anything though he does accept Charanaamrutham.He has

predicted several things to some of his deotees which are

working out to be true and will surely continue to.A

learned disciple of his is also all set to publish the

guru's only written work.....'Kaamakalaavilasa

Bhasyam'(on which many of my posts derive inspiration

from).<br>He has decided to give up his mortal body and to

merge with Divine mother on the coming Mahanavami day

of Navarathri in Kancheepuram, the place where ma

appears as Kamakshi Mahatripurasundari, seated in the

bindu sahasraara of srichakra,amidst a selected few of

his close disciples.<br>I appeal to one and all to

chant hymns and mantras and make this day filled with

divinity all over the world.May the great Guru bless all
