Guest guest Posted August 31, 2001 Report Share Posted August 31, 2001 Yamas are universal Moral commandments: the right means are just as important as the end in view. <br><br>The Sage Patanjali enumerates these means as the eight limbs of Yoga or unity for the quest for the soul.<br><br>Niyama is self purification by discipline.<br><br>Both Yama and Niyama control the yogi's passions and emotions and keep him and her in Harmony with his and her fellows.
