Guest guest
The proposed chat on this topic is very welcome.

In case I'm unable to be part of the chat due to my schedule, here are some thoughts.

The attacks in New York City and Washington DC woke me up to the fuller realization that what I fight inside myself, the world is fighting also:

We need to conquer our indifference to the battle between good and evil. I realized it really matters that evil be challenged and neutralized, and positivity strengthened. It's not just little stings and nips at the feet; ignored, negativity builds and builds and then unleashes a horrifying catastrophe.

For me personally, I've felt it strike full-force as health problems, and now I've watched as thousands of innocents died, before my eyes, on television, as the twin towers collapsed.

We need to be with other people, to use this time on earth to enjoy the company of others. Being with others also allows the divinity that is reflected in us to flow between us, strengthening and purifying each of us (there is no "giver" and "receiver").

This is also a rare moment when it is possible to cut through all the self-serving myths at the political and national-government level and recognize we all share one planet. Whether we are capitalist, communist, african or arab, why not figure out a way to get along together? Only in friendship, hand-in-hand with all other communities on this earth, can the U.S. or any country fight terrorism.

A British politician had a stunningly simple idea to rally support in Afghanistan: "bomb them with food and medicine." If every national government or community is our friend, the terrorists will have nowhere to hide.

Finally, as a resident of the U.S. I want to say how proud I am of my leader, Mr George Bush. He is representing us to the world with compassion, dignity and resolve. Visiting mosques, shedding tears, and standing firm, he is truly a father figure who is greatly needed at this time. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your writings here. I this time of great fear I found it extremely reassuring to read your message. I am not up on all of the teachings related to this spiritual path and found your straight talk refreshing. Hope to hear more from you. PS could you recommend another site for one with spiritual leanings but less committment to one organized religion?
Peace and love quesara
