Guest guest
If not, why not?
When one start getting same sattvik happiness or Bliss when one is chanting or meditating one does not feel any need to visit temples. But it is recommended that a seeker should at least visit different temples once in a week and can check one’s subtle abilities.

Do you experience temples differently?

Understanding the subtle dimension means the ability to perceive without the use of the five senses, mind and intellect. This subtle perception is called as spiritual experience. Since Spirituality is a science of experience, it is taught through experiments in spiritual meetings. The experiments entail observing different figures. These could be covered objects or the reverse side of a photo. One's perception after meditating on the object for approximately two minutes is assessed. One may perceive the subtle vibrations emanating from the object or picture, which results in one either feeling pleasant or distressed. Some may perceive nothing at all. A beginner in the spirituality will not be able to perceive anything if he participates in such experiments. Only those seekers, whose spiritual level (due to their spiritual practice) is more, will be able to perceive the subtle; hence, only such seekers will be able to participate. The accuracy of answers obtained during an experiment depends on the spiritual level of the participants. One should not feel bad if one's answers are wrong. As one's spiritual level increases by practicing Spirituality, one will get the correct answers.

The different vibrations perceived at different temples were actually the understanding sattvika of place. Sattvikta depends upon many factors such as spiritual level of priest, direction of the temple, location of temple, kind of visitors to temples (as a tourist or as a devotees) etc.

If you need any further explanation you are most welcome.

With love
Sanatan
Glenn-Sampada
Guest guest
Thank you very much for your thoughtful reply. I really like the thought that the temple is truely in the heart. I aspire to someday truely living that sentiment. For now -- I am still very new to this path and realize I have a ways to go -- I think that the physicality of the temple is something I can benefit from. Truely knowing God is not something that can be achieved by attending temple, and I know that. It's something that can only be done internatlly. I am not quite at that stage yet, and feel that the strong pillar of physical representations of Divinity is something that will assist me on my path. I definitely felt an intense energy at the temple.

Erica
