In upanishads like kena,shwetashwatara,tripuraa tapini,nrisimha tapini,mahabharatha,bhagavatha etc. this has assumed magnificent glory.Markandeya,bramnaanda,devi bhagavatha,kaali,kaalika and other puranas,tantras,agamas,nigamas,yaamalas etc exist with the sole purpose of propogating the mysterious teachings of shakti worship. The credit of clarifying the true practices of shakthaa order and banishing blasphemies that were purported in the name of shakthi sadhana goes to the great avtaar of Dakshinamurthy Shiva,Adi shankara.<br>Navarathri gives heightened extperiences of shakthi. She is worshipped as lakshmi-saraswathi-gauri forms and as the samashti roopini Mahadurga.<br>Navarathri signifies the victry of the good or knowledge or advaita(monism) over evil,ignorance and duality(dvaita).In this season, being muchh more imprtant than chaitra navarathri,most hindus indulge in some form of mother worship, be it tantric or vedic,generally both meeting at some point.The mother is decorated as Jagatprasootika,brahmi,maaheswari,kaumaari,vaishhnavi,indraani,chamundee,ashwaro\ odhaa,saraswathi, mohini and as Lalitha mahatripura sundari Sri Raja Rajeshwari.<br><br>Most hindus recite durga saptashati,devi bhagavata,sahasranamas,devi upanishads,atharvasirsha,soota samhitaa,ramayana,bhaagavatha,laksmi narayana hhridaya and other sacred works.Kashmiri pandas recite panchastavi,the pentad of hymns on kundalini yoga on tripurasundari.Lalitoopaakhyana,a part of brahmanda purana is credited too be even superior to durga saptashati by bhagavan veda vyasa.Reciting this confers boons infinite times greater than saptashati.Durga poojaa is done with the sthaapana of devi,archana ,japam of moola durga and navaarna mantras,reciting saptashati,bali pooja,shata-saasra-rudra-chandra-khanda-maraghta-sahasra candi homas,kumari pooja,brahmana bhojan etc.Saraswathi pooja is on the day of moola nakshatra.<br>........................
