Guest guest
Thanks silentopposition, really, seshadri for a turning things around and conducting a wonderfully illuminating conversation, with restraint and respect for all others present. Thanks omprem, peggy, mirabai for participating. What is enlightening to some, may be "boilerplate" to others and vica versa! .. it lies in the eyes of the beholder! To me that is the power of dialogue.

A commment about the scope of the subject in our club, since it has been raised. You are all correct. Sadhana is in fact all of life. In fact, each breath we take, each action we take, each thought we have and each emotion we enjoy, who we hang with, who we support and encourage etc etc is all sadhana - practice. Further, it includes all of life, all kinds of life, ranging from that of a yogi and a King to that of a beggar, thug, a prostitute, in fact even a terrorist. Each one's experience is taking him/her closer and closer to their ultimate goal of realizing their True Selves, each at their own pace and time.

In our club however, mainly for purposes of peace, we have to keep the scope limited to certain general aspects of sadhna. Comparitive political or religious debates of rights or wrongs are not really the focus here. Prolonged off-color jokes and barbs at each other are also discouraged repeatedly, and if continued are to be deleted. Intruders who do hit-and-run posting are also not welcome here. They wouldn't have to run if they didn't think they were doing something undesirable.

Thanks Omprem for posting this quote by Martin Niemoller. Reminds of a film we saw in class, about the role we play in our community, who and what we support and what happens when people wait for things to happen to them before they take a stand against injustice!

There are several interesting threads of conversations going on, with something of interest to all. Looking forward for lots of participation from all!

_/\_ Tat twam asi

Uma
