Guest guest
A saint once went to a village and asked for alms from the house of a rogue. The rogue was against religions, gods and saints. He abused the saint and when the saint kept smiling, he took a rod and hit him on his head. The saint fainted outside his house.

Meanwhile a farmer, who was very religious and kind, saw a saint lying unconscious on the road, he lifted him and took him to his house and served him well. After some time the saint regained his consciousness and seeing him opening his eyes, the farmer offered him a glass of milk and continued dressing his wound.

The saint smiled and thanked him. The farmer spoke,"I am Krishna Lal, a farmer and I brought you home when i saw u fainted on the road. Who hit you so hard sir?"

The saint smiled and said," You are very strange Krishna...you yourself hit me and abused me...and now you are dressing my wounds and offering me milk...when will i understand your games ?"

The farmer was perplexed," Swamiji, you are a saint you should not tell a lie...when did i hit you?"

And he turned towards his wife and said," Oh dear it seems, the hit has damaged his brain and he is speaking crazy..believe me i did not hit him."

But the saint kept smiling.....Poor farmer could not understand what saint was speaking.

_____________\ _

So friends, our sadhna can take us on two paths One we treat whole universe as God and expand our consciousness to be one with the Universe.

Two we use "Neti-Neti" (not this-not this)...and refuse to accept the Universe as real and drown into our ownself to the find the Truth.

Which idea, do you think, is easier and fast ?

Hari Aum
Guest guest
SilentSoul,

In my path, I accepted the universe as real, which to me is fine, but I denied all the evil thoughts that I had and the circumstances thereof as "Not I" and fought the "christian" devil, only to learn that all the time, it was me! - the universe, the good and the evil are all one. It took me a little over 15 years to reach that point, but I dont know that any is faster than the next. What we learn by rote in our heads does us no good until it sinks into our very spirits anyway and that is something that only the creator of all things can answer.

Still with my reading, it struck me that the Dhammapada had the easiest "black and white" route to take...and add to it The Lamp of NonDual Knowledge, same author as Who Am I.

Now, I think that "all oneness" needs to really and truly sink into just a small multitude of us and we will change the world for the better....or something...I still meditate this and dare to dream the possibilities of it all.

vicki
