Meanwhile on Earth, a couple of days passed.

Sambandan, who was waiting to avenge Arunagiri said to the

king, "Your highness ! Looks like Arunagiri failed in

his mission to get you the heavenly flower. That's

the reason he committed suicide. His body is under a

tree near the gopura, of the temple. The temple

rituals are also halted (It is customary that when there

is a dead body, the holy rituals shouldn't be

performed in its vicinity). Doesn't look like your divine

friend is going to come back. Hence let's cremate the

body". The king in the sorrow of his divine friend's

death, relented.

In heaven, Arunagiri found the

Manonmani plant. He picked up the healing flower, caught it

in his beak, and started flying Earthwards. As he

was flying towards the city, the sweet fragrance of

the flower spread across the country. This fragrance

cured the king off his illness, and also bestowed

wealth and properity in the country. When the king

recovered he came to know of Sambandan's plot and vengeance

against Arunagiri, and how on purpose he hurriedly burnt

Arunagiri's human body. The king punished and extradited

Sambandan.

However, Arunagiri on coming to know that his body was

burnt didn't feel any remorse, as he didn't wish to

attain Liberation with that human body which had

commited many sins. Hence, he was glad to stay on in this

parrot body.
