Guest guest
In getting out some of my books with the sayings/words of Anasuya Devi, I found one little book on my shelf entitled, "Amma-Maharshi" which shows striking similarities in the words both used.

The author, Dr. Sripada writes:

"The sayings of Amma and Maharishi, their behaviour, attitude, including practices, their replies to visitors when questioned, have in many respects striking similarities though the words or language used were different, conveying the unique message or meaning.

Also, I have not come across such idential personalities in any other two intellects. Amma and Maharishi are personalities of High Intellect (i.e. JNANIS) who have not taken the Sanyas Ashramam (initiation as Saint) as prescribed in other religious books. To both of them, the visitors are their own children, irrespective of caste, creed, their age, their nature and status. Affection towards one and all is of the same degree as shown towards her own children, a fact which is felt and seen. As also in case of Maharishi, such an unique equality towards all is felt.

Maharishi's personal get up was very simple, whereas Mother adores well dressed get up though she has no attachment to it. To all visitors and followers, Mother and Bhagwan showed the same type of kindness, affection and sympathy. AMMA and MAHARISHI have proclaimed that they have preached for practice, their own experiences. Both have manifested in everything. They have pronounced that 'Every Thing' and 'Anything' is themselves."

Now the following rather continues what I was saying to Uma/Tatwamasi about the actions we perform are not in our own hands. Here the author says one quote by Amma, and a similar by
Ramana:

AMMA: "To be active is not in your hands."

MAHARISHI: "To act or to be lazy is not in your hands. Whatever is to be done in this birth had been predetermined for you. Whether it is to your liking or not, those acts (Karma) will be got performed through you." (p.39)

More quotes in the next post..

Kathy

To email me (and please do):
Celestial_Saraswati.
