An Internet site for family issues recently

published an article dealing with the common problem of

aggression in children. Many parents, having had no success

despite trying various methods to contain their

children’s anger, manifesting as mild to intense aggression,

had sent in their issues, seeking guidance. A mother

of a five-year-old son said that the boy gets so

angry that he hits, punches or kicks the closest person

to him. She added that despite her son’s

non-aggressive upbringing, trying non-aggressive methods,

teaching him to handle his anger constructively,

preventing exposure to action packed programs, etc., it is

getting harder to control his anger. In response to such

queries, the article gave guidelines to parents that

included pin-pointing the circumstances that provoke the

children’s anger, continuing with their current methods to

control the children’s anger, allowing them to be angry,

but not violent, enrolling them in martial arts

classes, etc. The guidance further mentioned that with

these techniques, the parents should see gradual

progress, but if there is none, they should consult a

professional counselor for their children.

The fact

that young children display such anger, despite

non-aggressive and careful upbringing, clearly shows that such

behavior arises from personality defects, mostly beyond

external circumstances. Hence, external measures like

teaching the children non-aggressive ways of expressing

anger would only treat the symptoms. Since negative

behavior arises from deep-rooted undesirable subconscious

impressions * and even subtler factors like trouble from

negative energies, unsatisfied ancestors’ souls, etc.,

lasting relief can come only with subtle measures like

spiritual practice.

Repeating The Lord’s Name** is

not only a powerful spiritual practice to overcome

such deep-rooted problems, but also is simple enough

to be taught to children as young as three years of

age. Depending on the severity of the problem, parents

can daily repeat 6 to 18 turns of a rosary for their

children, who are incapable of doing so for

themselves.

Source <a href=http://www.sanatan.org/weekly
