Guest guest
I realize you are directing your messages directly towards Ompremji, but please allow me the liberty of responding to your posts.

First, on a personal note, realize that I was brought up in a Catholic family; they read the bible; I attended Sunday school. I am only telling you this because I feel I can speak out on the subject, as I have experienced much of the condemnation first hand.

I will be first to admit that Jesus was a great man. He was a great teacher that had many wonderful things to say. People followed him because they saw this, just as people today listen to great teachers and what they have to say. We are all looking for answers to questions that don't have answers, and we look where ever we feel the answers may be: Jesus, ourselves, nature, books, each other.

However, the narrow-minded view that Jesus is the only way...The Savior of all man-kind...is just that. Narrow-minded. This is not to say that those that follow his teachings are in any way wrong. No. Each man must know himself, and therefore choose his path his own way, in his own time, of his own accord. I do not begrudge those that follow the teachings of Jesus. I begrudge people when they tell me that, because I do not see Jesus as the one and only son of God, I am wrong.

When we try and convert others, or convince them that they are wrong in their views, this is an extension of our ego at work. We think that we are the only ones that possibly know THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIGHT, and we want to spread our infinite knowledge out to the entire world. When someone disagrees and is strong in their own beliefs, we want to damn them, condemn them, or even run a plane into their building. Why? Because our ego is threatened. This person is just as strong as we are, therefore they are a threat.

I guess it boils down to survival of the fittest. Those that can be strong, will be strong.

There are as many paths to God as there are people in this world. When we start to respect that, and people don't let their egos get the better of them, then we will all be free to love one another. Until then, we will continue to have wars and deaths and hate in the name of God.

God is love. That, my friend, is something you can not change.

With as much love as I can muster,
Erica
