I am curious as to where you got that

information? Surrendering to God, to me, means surrendering

all things, ego included, for without attachements we

become one WITH God, not a rock :) in love, mirabai

Om Amohan_UK

Inanimate objects do not have

consciousness because their tamas guna is highly predominant.

Animals do have consciousness but do not have spiritual

consciousness because their rajas guna is highly dominant. Only

humans have the capacity for spiritual consciousness and

then only if they conquer their tamasic and rajasic

tendencies and resolutely maintain a sattvic consciousness.

In the end, even the sattva guna must be transcended

for relief from the wheel of life and

death.

Surrendering to God means surrendering your flawed vision of

the universe as being composed of separate objects.

This belief carries with it a sense of separation,

alienation, competition and conflict. It is the result of

relying only on the evidence of the senses. Senses have

very narrow threshholds (for example, we cannot hear a

dog whistle) and are often flawed (for example, the

need to wear eye glasses or hearing aids). There is

more that lies outside the range of the senses than

there is lying within the range of the

senses.

Surrendering to God means subjugating the ego and the outward

pull of the mind and turning the attention inward to

access other means of acquiring knowledge via the

chakras that reveal the universe to be one. You come to

see and understand that all the things in the

universe are connected to each other and are manifestation

of an underlying Reality. Even physics accepts that

there are no separate objects, no material objects,

that all 'objects' are, in reality, various

configurations of energy and that all those 'objects' are

projections from an underlying base of energy. The more

subtle observers and reflectors perceive that all is, in

turn, a manifestation of Brahman.

So, surrender

to God, first allows you to experience yourself and

the rest of the universe in a much fuller sense.

Then, surrender to God, enables you see that all arises

from God and contains God. Finally, surrender to God

enables you to experience God's Grace and to understand

that your true identity, your authentic Self is

God.

Om namaha Sivaya

Omprem

your question made me thinking many ways.
to

whom we,animals ,and stones

surrendered?
animals, stones are surrendered to their physical existence.they

surrendered to their fears and desires.and for the same

things we too are surrendered.now what is the differance

between animals and man.
the diferance we feel between

other beings and humanbeings is to think.they cannot

imagine or think, but we can.and we are using the quality

again to more surrender our selves to our
instincts.so we are leading a life more worse than animals and

so.
is there any way to lead a life without fear and

with full of love(remember this love is not desire.it

a love to give, not to take.it is a love to

dissolve, not to absorb)some great people are saying since

ages..yes there is.and the way is to surrender to

god.
but,we have to understand that god has no form.while

understanding god,we need a form to him, bcos,we cannot

understand a thing without form.when our love and belief on

him are become strong and deep,
we gradually come

to know that god has no form and
there is god in

all forms we are seeing.and it canbe called

surrendering totally to god.
hope i conveyed some thing,

that i think i know.
love to you and all
prasad

Surrender to "God" is surrendering one's ego, -

"i" am this so and so in this body, that lives in

ignorance of its True Reality and its total potentiality.

Only when we are able to give that up, do we remove

the barriers to discovering our the unbounded

potential.

It's like singing, or dancing or even

writing; if you try very hard with your physical brains

you lose it, but if use the physical skills and then

step back, allowing the soul to flow, you begin to get

a glimpse of the unlimited vastness of your soul.

Good question amohan .. look forward to more

discussion. Hinduism looks upon all life as THAT; only at

different levels of consciousness. The Human animal has the

earned the abilty to make a tough choice - to learn to

step out of ignorant existence or not. What it chooses

determines which way it journeys on.

_/\_ Tat twam

Because you have no other alternative my dear,

than to surrender to Him.If you dont surrender

willingly, then apt to expose yrself with all the happiness

and miseries as well.To convert your happiness into a

bliss and your miseries to mere sport, you have to

surrender. This instinct is of course animal, but then human

beings too are just animals(Homosapians).God does not

insist upon you to surrender. He is so compassionate that

He admits even thoes who deny and defy Him,
