Kaliyuga !!

Shri Bhagwat besides telling story of Krishna also has a brief

description about the era after Mahabharata.

 

Besides telling about various Kingdoms which will rule India, shri

Bhagwat also tells :-

 

 

…Afterwards Bharat (India) will be ruled by Aabhir, Gadarbhi

and Kank kingdoms, then Turks (means muslims) and Yavan (read

Europeons) will rule India. The more the onset of Kaliyuga, the more

will be the country without any good deeds. The Brahmins will loose

their Sanskaras (good deeds). Kings will behave like Shudras. The

areas near Saurasthrra, Avanti, Sindhu banks and kashmir etc will be

ruled by kings lacking Brahma-Teja (god-like qualities), or by name-

sake Brahmins or Mallechhas (outsiders without religion).

 

All these rulers will be cruel and mean and will kill women,

children, cows and Brahmins. People will snatch others' women and

properties. These kings will be without any Sanskaras (good

culture). Kings will draw blood from their subjects in form of taxes.

 

Shukadevji further said," Time is very powerful. The more the

onset of Kaliyuga (present era is called Kaliyuga), Dharma, Truth,

Piousness, forgiveness, age, memory etc will be weaker. People with

mean mentality will be worshipped and truthful and religious will

die of hunger. Those who will be mean and selfish will be treated as

expert in living. Courts will give justice on the basis of bribe and

status. Those who will be Egoists and Pakhandi (fake saints) will be

treated with respect and fear. The main aim of everybody will be to

become rich by any means. People will use Religion to earn

Publicity.

 

There will be famines. Somewhere it will rain heavily and will

cause flood and somewhere it will be famine and draught. Natural

calamities will increase. Strange diseases will attack the

humanity. Men's age span will reduce and religion will go into the

hands of cheats and fakes.

 

And finally when the sins will be unbearable, then Bhagwan

Kalki will re-incarnate. He will be born in Sambhal city (perhaps

presently sambhal in Bihar) . His father will be a Brahmin with the

name "Vishnu Yash" God will be with a sword and riding on a very

very fast horse and will destroy the enemies of Dharma .

 

Parikshit asked ," Sir there are only faults and sins in Kaliyuga,

then how will men be purified and enlightened ?

 

Shukadeva said," Yes King, there are many faults in Kaliyuga but one

can clean himself of the sins in Kaliyuga by chanting and listening

to the names of Krishna (read God). Enlightenment which is available

in other Yugas (sat-yuga, Treta-yuga, Dwapar-yuga) by long, tiring

and difficult sadhnas, will be available in Kaliyuga very easily by

chanting the name of god with love and devotion.

 

 

And now listen about the Pralaya (final destruction of earth).

This universe has been made by Brahmaji (one god among the trinity).

His one day is equal to one Kalpa which is 1000 circles of the four

Yugas. So after the day, when Brahmaji sleeps in his night (read

unmanifested state), there is Pralaya for His one night. Next

morning Brahmaji wakes up again and re-builds this Universe again.

 

Brahmaji does this circle of manifestation and Pralaya for

(his) 100 years, and then Brahmaji also merges into the great truth

by Mahapralaya (greatest destruction)

 

During the time of Pralaya, Fires spew out from the womb of

earth and all the living beings will be killed. There will be no

rain for 100s of years, killing even the trees and vegetation. The

sun with its increased heat will dry up all sources of water. And

finally comes the tremendous rains and storms. Whole earth will be

filled with water….Earth is finally destroyed and everything ends.
