Guest guest
Hello dear Sadhakas! I am still stuck in the pranayama postings because they are so fascinating! As I do pranayama though, I wonder how to count (so that it will be correct) and I stare at the TVs teletext page where i can see the seconds. Is it normal to do pranayamas with a watch or clock? Because I find no other way if being accurate. (even in the past when I did pranayamas given by teacher, I used to use watch). How do you count the seconds in the pranayamas? Hari Om! Guest guest
Dear de-spell, Here counting does not mean the inhalation etc. should be for so many seconds. The main purpose of counting is to keep an accurate ratio of inhaling, holding and exhaling. Even if your counting of 5 is not exactly of 5 seconds, it really does not matter. But try to be as slow in counting as you can and same speed to be applied for all inhalations, holdings and exhalations. Within three moths, one will be able to see results of pranayama, if done properly. Guest guest
Thanks Silensoulji, I understand now the meaning of counting. I see results of pranayama even after 2 weeks (i did about 20-30 min a day). Pranayama is something really great.
