Namaste,

Last night, a friend of mine told me about Peace Pilgrim. She was an

elder lady who decided to walk over 25,000 miles around the US for

peace. She gave up everything she had, walked around the country and

spread her message of peace and love.

This is one quote I found while visiting a website dedicated to her:

"I once met a man who said to me 'I'm surprised at the kind of person

you are. After reading your very serious message on the way of peace

I expected you to be a very solemn person, but instead I find you

just bubbling over with joy.' I said to him 'Who could know God and

not be joyous?' If you have a long face and a chip on your shoulder,

if you are not radiant with joy and friendliness, if you are not

filled to overflowing with love and good will for all beings and all

creatures, and all creations, one thing is certain — you have not

found God!"

Dear Erica,

Thank you for this post. Some time back Blue Dove Press (in Calif.)

was offering FREE a book on/about Peace Pilgrim. I don't know if

they are still running the offer now or not.

The way I look at it, I see Peace Pilgrim who was a bodhisattva. She

slept outside on her thousands of miles of journeys, and had no

fear. I think once someone asked her if she wasn't afraid, that

people are murdered. She replied something to the effect, that

people are murdered in hotel rooms, with doors locked, etc.

If I have time, some time I will try to hunt up my book(s) on Peace

Pilgrim and post more.

Thank you for your sharing.

Blessings,

Kathy
