Guest guest
Continued from Pt II.. Satish, I am not familiar with the Murshida you speak of (Ivy O. Duce). I am familiar with Murshid Vera Corda. I *think* what your story is illustrating is the fact the God/The Divine is telling Moses that EVERY thing contains the All-Pervading Divinity/Divine essence. For many years I went through very very difficult things in my life, when finally around l99l I had the great opportunity to be initiated by Pir Vilayat into a sufi order. I had been reading many of the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, whom I felt touched me very deeply, and encouraged me to go to his son, Pir Vilayat. Murshid (H.I.Khan) passed away early in his life, I think somewhere in his 40's..he said he had come to remove the thorns from people's hearts. I really liked that. So I have many many books which contain the words/teachings of Murshid to his mureeds. Here is something that he spoke about in connection with the terms prophet, saint, and master, since Satish, you had mentioned sufism and also mentioned that Meher Baba said women can incarnate or come as "masters". The following is excerpted from "COMPLETE WORKS OF PIR-O-MURSHID HAZRAT INAYAT KHAN: Original Texts: Lectures on Sufism l923 II: July- December. "The path of the Msaster wants self-discipline and will power to make a headway through life. It is the path of accompolishment. All that the Master takes up, he accomplishes. All that the Master desires attains sooner or later. Yet the Master's one desire is the spiritual attainment to its fullness. Therefore all other attainments, spiritual or material, are nothing before him other than many steps on the staircase. The struggle in the path of the Master is great; he has struggle all along. Everything that meets him on the way to accomlishment of ________ to get through than the condition before. No doubt as he proceeds on the path of attainment, he gains power through struggle. The greater the struggle through life, the greater his power. The Master _____ gradulally through the five principal stages of attainment and may even arrive at the state of Rasulship in the end." To be continued to next post.. (Friends, please realize that I worry about being "timed out" if my posts are too long, and so am rushing through this and NOT editing my typos to make sure everything is not erased and lost by ..which has happened a number of times before when trying to make a fairly lengthy post. Please also realize that these words were transcribed longhand from people who attended Murshid's talks, and contain many footnotes, there is evidently different words heard or written down by different people, and some words are not even remembered or know and therefore there is a blank (________) when it is obvious that the transcriber did not get the word down).
