Guest guest
So glad to see some really nice responses to this interesting question. In my view, a sadhaks journey is really alone. No one can share another's personal trip. The role of others however is to support and trigger growth. A satsangh provides an atmosphere, charged with higher energies, which helps keeps one's mind at the highest levels of thought. It provides an avenue for knowledge and dialogue which in turn triggers enquiry. Family members help by supporting and providing space and encouragement through, both the spiritual practice and upholding the practice in everyday lives as well, throughout its up and downs. Even closer family, like one's spouce or children, can do both - provide appropriate obstacles so as to learn and work out one's weaknesses, or provide a intimate supporting framework for practice. The challenges of practice however, have to be faced alone. However at some point, one can get in tune with one's Guru, internal or external, who then remains with you throughout the journey. Even external ones often will move on, and one is left with the inner Guru alone. However, it takes time to get tuned to that Guru, and in times of challenges, it is harder to continue to remain tuned to HIM/HER. It is easier said than done. But that is the journey itself. The goal is fairly far away.. meanwhile the journey itself becomes the goal. _/\_ Tat twam asi Uma ***************************************** Post 4384 prasad_s_deshpande wrote: > As per my understanding one has to cover this journey all alone >until one reaches the destination. Guest guest
Dear Uma, I too contributed to this topic and had pointed out tremendous need for the "others" while marching onto Goal. The benefit is of course personal and indivualised. Kindly give a thought to what Buddha said.He gave us a trio for our "travell". They are 1.Buddham Saranam Gachchami 2.Dhamam Saranam Gachchami, and 3 Sangham Saranam Gachchami. Last one has not been clearly understood and explained in Hindu scriptures, but nevertheless it is of utmost immoprtance. For some culural resons Hindu could not identify it as a compulsory component, but Christianity and Islam has done so. Teachers of the transcedental meditation has named it as "Mass or Group Meditation." Do you feel to revise or add into your post?
