Guest guest
We all talk about happiness, and we all want to be happy. But what is happiness? How do you define happiness? When will you say you are happy? What is it that gives us / responsible for our happiness - favourable events, people, things, objects etc? Why does happiness alternate with sorrow, and why can't one be eternally happy? Why do we feel sorrowful at times? How do we overcome sorrow? I request all the members to pour in your thoughts on these questions. Thank you Hari Aum !!!
Guest guest
--very good question .. we all r running after the happiness wit out knowing what exactly it is .we dont know that exactly which feelings contribute to the state of happiness .well according to my limites knowedge 1 -- happy ness is the state of mind when we dont need any thing further . it can be temporary or long lasting . when we get some materialistic thing eg car a good dress we feel happy for a shorter period immediately the next desire comes for a better car n again we become un happy . i feel long lasting happiness is the state of affair when total saturation is there no desire left . i think it is only possible if we learn to live in present moment . the moment which is free from future imaginations n past memeories n i feel it is the ultimate happiness where we r free from past n future . - In , s_v_c_s <no_reply> wrote: > > We all talk about happiness, and we all want to be happy. Guest guest
Thank you momooin for your elucidation. >> it can be temporary or long lasting << Can anything which is temporary be real? i.e can something which is real have only a momentary existence. For after that moment it ceases to exist, then what is real? So is this so called 'happiness' that we experience real? >>i feel long lasting happiness is the state of affair when total saturation is there no desire left .<< >>i feel it is the ultimate happiness where we r free from past n future<< That means we all are making a differentiation between happiness and ultimate happiness. That means, that which we call happiness is not really happiness, isn't it ? or is it ? Or is it some other kind of pleasant feeling that we call / misterpret as happiness, and name the real happiness as 'ultimate happpiness' ? So what is it that we feel on getting a good car or a dress, and why do we feel it? Thank you momooin, pyari_h and other members, in advance. Hari Aum !!!
