Guest guest
Dear Members Happy New Year to you all! "Every new year is a gift to the spirit. May your days be blessed with inspiration and the kind of music only the heart can hear." A big thank you to all those who have posted such wonderful New year messages. I also love jigyasa02's post 4621 on the different new year celebrations that take place in various cultures. On the same line of thought, a message that came by email to me said, "Happy New Years! 5239 of Krishna Janma, 2546 of Buddha, 2060 of Vikram Samvat, 2003 of common era, 1424 of muslim hijri, 535 of Guru Nanak, 56 of independent india!". I don't know whether the figures are accurate but it certainly reflects the importance of the celebration. Personally for me, the New years is an opportunity to start afresh, an occasion to clean the slate and start again. It is a time to make resolutions, not the ones that sound nice, or are idealistic, but those that are attainable and measurable that may take us a step closer to our goal. It is time to take stock, to see what worked, what didn't, what tools need to be modified, what needs to be pursued further. It is time to look at how well we have been able to walk the talk we love to talk, and what we need to do differently to make it even more effective. It is time to see what is a sadhaks role individually and as a member of a community. It is essentially a great opportunity for review and recharge. Wishing you all clarity, intention and successful pursuit of whatever you wish. Much love and light _/\_ Tat twam asi Uma
