Guest guest
"In the Bhagavat Gita (Lord's Song) it is written: "Whenever vitue subsides and vice prevails on this earth, I (God) assume a human form to establish _dharma_ (awaken love in the heart of man which upholds the human society). The Avataric periods appear to be the darkest periods of human history and the greatest upheavals of war appear to have occurred during such periods. Because of the massive destruction by waves of war in Iran in such a period, we have no records on the true life and work of Zoroaster, Sri Ram and Mohamed personally fought in wars of their time. Sri Krishna guided the course of war in his time as the Charioteer of Arjuna, the hero of that great war. Vyasa with the knowledge and poetic vision of a perfect Master Artist, had depicted in the great epic of all time 'Mahabharatha' not only the origin and causes of war, but also the spiritual purpose war served by releasing both good and bad in human nature, thus helping the process of transforming human consciousness from the gross plane of ego-intoxicated tendencies of lust for power, greed and hatred towards divine consciousness. Buddha and Jesus Christ do not appear to have associated with either the politics nor personally participated in the wars of their times. Yet it is evident that their very presence on the earth, and their names and messages, amply influence the forces that controlled the administratie affairs of the then-known world. It is also evident that sages and saints of their time worked consciously for the Cause of Truth unfolded through them. Moreover, their agents were working for them -- some consciously and some unconsciously -- in and through the various strata of contemporary society.; It is also an historical fact that great upheavals produced by war helped the spread of their messages far and wisde. Meher Baba once said, "Had not Krishna brought about that war he would not have given the Gita, because everyone was in the mood to fight. Had he said, 'Don't fight,' nobodyh would have listened to him. When he said, 'Fight!' he brought the real meaning of Truth into the world. The world is now going bnack to a barbarous state. What Krishna teaches in the Gita goes deep. He does not say anything in a round-about way. He says, 'You can becom eGod. If you love me, follow me, ther eis no other way.' Once in l927, Meher Baba said that it was Sai Baba who controlled the Great War (World War i), though he seemed to be doing nothing, sitting in an out-of-the-way place; Shirdi, in the Ahmednagar district unknown to the world at large." p. l06-l07:MEHER BABA ON WAR Peace, Kathy
