Guest guest
Salutations to Thakur, Guru, and Ma! M. takes out the 23 Khand from the 2nd Part of the Kathamrita : 'Sri Ramakrishna in Dakshineswar with devotees on the Dol Yatra Day. The reader : (Sri Ramakrishna is saying)--'There is no harm in the 'I of devotion' or the "I of knowledge' or the 'I of the child'. Shankaracharya retained the "I of knowledge'. Reason you may a thousand times, yet you cannot give up the 'I'. The 'I' is like an earthen pot and Brahman like an ocean---water, water everywhere. Even then the pot is there. The 'I' of the devotee is of the same form. So long as there is the pot, there are 'I' and 'You'--'You' means Thakur and 'I' his devotee---You, my Lord, and I, your servant. And then this is a fact : Reason you may a thousand times, the 'I' simply does not leave. But when the pot disappears it's a different matter. M.--"This is what we call Practical Vedanta. It is not possible to remain in samadhi all the time. That's why when one comes down one has to be aware, be in bhava. It is essential to have living thought. It is only after realizing God-with-form and God-without-form that bhava gets fixed." Satchitananda Kathy (M.-THE APOSTLE AND EVANGELIST.
