Salutations to Thakur, Guru, and Ma!

The Thakur Bari, The Thakur Room

M.--"The Holy Mother would sit there. How many nights did she spend

in the Thakur Bari !

It is a holy place. Sitting there anybody can attain perfection.

Before the partition of Bengal, Swamiji also paid regular visits to the Bari.

Besides Rakhal Maharaj (Sw. Brahmananda), Kali Maharaj (Swami

Abhedananda), Girish Babu, Baburam (Swami Premananda), Niranjan

(Swami Niranjanananda), Khoka (Swami Subodhananda), Hari Maharaj

(Swami Turiyananda) and other bhaktas of Thakur, all went there, always. Then

Shukul, Sudhir, Kali Krishna and others of the next generation kept coming. Dr.

Kanjilal had his initiation in that very Thakur Bari.

Did incidents of mean importance take place there?

There's nothing and yet the window is rattling and shaking.

People outside think it is inside the house ; the inmates of the house think it

is happening outside. For days this goes on.

On the arrival of the other class of people, that is, people who do not perform

sadhan-bhajan, he would break domestic articles and throw them in the courtyard,

such as bricks, lime, red lime, bunch of keys.

The manuscript of the Kathamrita had been kept in a room. Articles from there

would also be thrown.

Doctor Babu, Kartik Bakshi, knows it. Phakir Babu, a Morton School teacher, was

seated on the verandah, when suddenly a big bell-metal cup fell in front, bang !

All the articles of the Thakur room were topsy-turvy. Ginni Ma, wife of M. and

bhakta of Thakur, said, 'Who latches the door of the Thakur Room ?

I had opened it, but as I go there it is latched.'

Seeing all this, Mahendra Babu embraced monastic life.

I hear Nandi-Bhringi lives with Thakur. He removes the persons of

'the other class' by doing all this.

The family was then living in the house. Having removed them, as soon as I go in

nothing happens anymore."
