Guest guest
Namaste Alexandra, Very interesting perspective. For my two cents worth---yes, yes, yes! Unconditional love! No I , you , she, me, them , us, we. Only Awareness!!!! Reaching enlightenment? ? Enlightenment Is. Hari Aum larry Alexandra Kafka <alexandra.kafka wrote: Every human is an incarnation of God, right? Guest guest
Sorry for such a delayed response. Here are my 2 cents. What really matters is NOT the object of worship, but the worship itself. How pure is our devotion / love is what determines the purification of the soul, and the consequent enlightenment. One could worship even an inanimate object, and still obtain Salvation. There are many examples to this also. There was a saint called Ramalinga Swamigal who lived around the 18th century in Tamil Nadu, India. Since he was religious since childhood, and didn't concentrate on school, his brother locked him up in a room, so as to get him divert his attention to the materialistic world. There was nothing in the room except for a cot and a mirror. Food was served to him regularly through the window. Ramalinga Swamigal took the mirror for his Ista Devatha Muruga, and prayed to the mirror. He reached the peak of his devotion and Lord Muruga gave him Darshan on that mere mirror. There is also another instance of a saint worshipping a rock, since he had no access to the temple. He was an outcaste ( Sri Arunagiri Nathar in his previous life), and wasn't allowed to enter the temple. He however had love for the Lord and took a stone nearby the temple and prayed to that stone. On the other hand, there is a story of a man, who was a devotee of Krishna. However he was very selfish, and always harmed people. Though he worshipped Krishna Himself, He did not get the Grace of the Lord, as he had no true love. If we analyse the above 3 instances, we find that in the first and second instances, the objects of worship were inanimate objects, the mirror and stone respectively. In the 3rd instance, Krishna was worshipped, however He did not achieve the Grace of the Lord. Thus we see that what is important is NOT the objects of worship, but the worship itself. Hope this helps, Hari Aum !!! , "Alexandra Kafka" <alexandra.kafka@a...> wrote: > Every human is an incarnation of God, right?
