Guest guest
Dear safar_x ji, Hari Om, There is another Pride called the 'false pride'. The perception that 'I am the body' is called the false pride. This type of pride is the cause of all our ills and keeps us entangled in the cycle of birth and death life after life through the 8.4 M (84 lakhs) and there is nothing Satvic about it. Until we realize our true nature, there is no hope of getting out of this cyclic effect and the acceptance of the fact that 'I am not the body' is the starting point on the path of spiritual Sadhana. Guest guest
Dear Rahdakutir ji, Praman..... 1. i am "safar_x" over net, my parents named me "Satish" 2. I agree with what you said about the "false pride", but consider even that as a Divine state. How, otherwise, can you explain the fact that a Pipal or banayan tree produces laks and laks of fruits, each containing laks and laks of seeds. Why, the Mother Nature takes so much trouble to produce such a large number of sees when IT defenitely knows that only half of the seeds produced by one single tree can cover more than the earth's surface ? 3. I feel obliged that you took the trouble in writing me direct and consider it a Grace Love Satish
Guest guest
Dear Satish ji, Correct, since this vast cosmic spread before us is a play of Maya, a power of the Lord, it is considered to be a Lila of the Lord, it has to be divine no doubt. But we must not get lost in His Lila, instead focus our attention on That Liladhari, the Lord and endeavor to know Him. Scriptures tell us, that Lord to be none other than I the Self, therefore at some point on the journey of our Sadhana we need to turn our attention in-wards and try to know the Self. Thus know thySelf and be free. Alternatively we must see the Lord in every name and form. Consider this: When we see the reflection of the moon in the river, we cannot reach the moon by diving in the river, instead we must turn towards the moon to reach it. This Lord's Lila is exactly like the reflection of the moon in the water. One non-dual Lord is reflecting in our mind-stuff as multifarious names and forms. Let us not get deluded by this play of His Maya. In spite of the body being divine and important for our Sadhana, getting attached to it will get us no where, instead all life's problems arise because of this attachment. Therefore we must remember that I am not the body, a human body is a unique instrument provided by the Lord so that we may attain the purpose of human birth. Therefore this body must be kept in good shape so that our Sadhana can go on uninterrupted. Guest guest
Dear Radhakutir ji, You are 100% correct. My point was "Intereral Yoga"..which seeks "transformation" of complete being. Everything is Divine..both the sinners and the saints are Divine intruments. Some aspire for the grace of the Divine (in theosophical terms -- Sadhak), while some ignore the entire principle of Divinity and they follow the commands of their vital plane of consciousness-- and we sceptically know them as athesists. Since the vital element too is a product of the Divinity,in some cases these people achieve great deeds and often serve the mankind while a large number are living like an animal in human form. We must concentrate over our inner-self..and try to expand our consciousness in which Lila is just a Lila...every actor, even a villian, should be admired for his/her acting. Thanks for addressing me by name.... seems i am going to be prey of "spiritual Pride"...hahahahaa Love Satish
Guest guest
What matters is the attitude we hold behind what we do. We can wear diamonds with the attitude of genuine total humility and non attachment and it is perfectly alright, while we can wear our spiritual knowledge with such arrogant pride that it set us back several levels. Just as we take care of our temples, keep it spotlessly clean, decorated and in good working order, we could be doing that either for the simple purpose of respect for the space allocated for prayers and one's beloved ishta devata, keeping the energy of the space condusive for the purpose it serves, OR one can be doing the same with the attitude of competition with the other temples and be the "richest" or the "best". Similarly we can be taking care of our bodies, our little selves, out of respect for the potential divinity within, to provide support to perform whatever one's karmic debts are, OR we can be doing the same taking pride how great our bodies or clothes are and one's standing in comparison to others. Ultimately, it is not so much what we do that matters, but the attitude we hold in our minds when we do it. _/\_ Tat twam asi Uma
