Guest guest
Dear Family and fellow sadhakas, I am spending a month in India with an artisan who makes stupendous statues of Gods and Goddesses. It is an amazing experience but it will take me longer than 8 months to learn the art!!! I wanted to share this with all my friends in groups especially the stunning statues. I will put it up on a web site... (if I can get to the internet cafe again, and stall off the bhaiyyas peering over my shoulder!!). If anyone is interested in any of these contact me by email and I can organise something. I have got the most amazing statues of Kali. Bhairon. Radha krisha under a Kalpavriksh (wish fulfilling tree in Brindawan) with peacocks perched on a swing... Tara devi in various postures, Buddha, Maya Devi. There is a most magical Bhairav temple here which is more than 2000 years old and the statue in the temple is 20 feet high, the artists statue made in bronze or brass is identical version but smaller ofcourse. This week he is starting on the Dasa mahavidyas for me!! I just wanted to share this with my group family!!! Kallikaputri
Guest guest
Kalliputri, I am someone who is very much concerned about the economic upliftment of stone carving craft. If what you describe is true, then I would be obliged to get the address you are talking about. Statues are, now a days, regarded as artifects or religious purposes but they have accademic value too. I would like to know the place where you found it. If you feel proper, you can mail me <satish1408 Satish
